What we do

There are times when life’s challenges can make us feel overwhelmed and isolated, and it may be difficult to talk about how we feel or what is happening with those close to us.

We offer a safe, confidential space to explore and process your thoughts, feelings and behaviours through one to one counselling.

Counselling can help you to develop ways of coping better and overcoming any issues you feel are holding you back.  At Remindful therapy we can help you to identify and develop your personal strengths and find what is really meaningful to you thus enabling you to move towards having the kind of life you would be happy to have.

Our aim is to:

  • Help you develop coping strategies
  • Help you develop your belief in yourself
  • Help you to look after yourself emotionally
  • Help you identify problematic and/or destructive patterns and thoughts in your life
  • Help you develop your self-awareness

At Remindful Therapy our main practice is person centred counselling.  This is a non-judgemental form of therapy (counselling) which uses the relationship between the client and the counsellor to bring about acceptance and/or change in the client. Sometimes this is known as talk therapy.

In person centred counselling the client guides each session, this means they talk about what they want to talk about rather that the counsellor choosing a topic.  This enables the client to explore what is important to them at that point.

Our experienced counsellors may decide that other methods of therapy are useful to an individual and may then use an integrative approach to counselling. What this means is that is they combine and apply different therapy approaches and theories in their work to provide a tailored approach to meet the individual needs of each clients, for example they may use breathing techniques, sand tray therapy, creative approaches or role play in their work with clients.
